As CEO and Chief Design Officer of Salams for 4 ½ years, I led the design of every aspect of the app, including our major redesign launched earlier this year. The redesign included an update of our color palette, illustrations, components, and core experiences with the stated and measurable goal of simplifying the in-app experience.

Launched the app in 6 new languages (German, French, Arabic, Indonesian, Malay, Turkish) through a rigorous localization and UX process. The app went from 1 million users to 6 million international, multilingual users in under 4 years.

Shipped an experience used by 10,000 users a week that connects them on live video blind dates for 3 minutes each. The problem we solved is that it takes too long to swipe on someone, match with them, exchange text messages and then finally meet them in-person…we simplified the funnel so you can jump straight into a video call and make your process more efficient.

In meetings, you either take notes and are a passive participant or you’re fully present but you don’t have notes to help you remember after a meeting. At Voicea, I led a team of designers in creating the experience of an A.I. joining your virtual meeting and take notes so you can be present in the meeting. A core component of that is the post-meeting experience where the transcript of the meeting, highlights, shareable actions, comments and more can be viewed and actioned.

Between March 2016 and May 2017, I was solely responsible for the design of our Windows 10 Desktop app. It had a simplified layout and navigation, the ability to go live from the app, OS integrations, and many more features that were used by millions of users.

Hundreds of millions of people use Facebook in India, where users speak in both English and Hindi. To enable users to post in Hindi Script, Hindi transliteration, or English, I led the design of a multi-language keyboard that integrates into the main status composer and in the comments composer.

People often forget their password. Couple that with the fact that they often log out of WWW and stay logged into the Facebook app on their phones. To make it easier for users to log in to WWW, we allow them to scan a QR code from the Facebook app. Doing so securely sends their credentials to the website.

During grad school, I designed a Muslim dating app that focused on matching people based on interests while empowering women to control who sees them on the app. Women on the app are only shown to men that they express interest in, thus ensuring that men they're not interested in won't find them outside of the app.
